Winter-Spring 2017 Workshops and Online Guides for Grant Preparation and Administration

URSA is proud to offer a number of research-related workshops and online guidance for the development of grant proposals and for general research administration. Below is the list of all research-related workshops that will be offered between January and June 2017, as well as information about where to access online guidance. Registration opens as noted beside each course listed.

  • Budgeting for Proposals (Basics), PAST; Register for in-class workshop by emailing cferguson25@gsu.edu. The online module is required prior to the in-class workshop and must be taken in iCollege by emailing cferguson25@gsu.edu. The online module may also be taken without the in-class workshop and can be accessed on the homepage in the Research Portal.
  • Writing a Better Grant Proposal (faculty, research staff, graduate students), PAST; Registration open at: https://app.gsu.edu/training_reg/admin/?system=11.
  • Personnel Effort Reporting, PAST; Registration open by emailing cferguson25@gsu.edu. The online module is required prior to the in-class workshop and must be taken in iCollege by emailing cferguson25@gsu.edu.
  • Budgeting for Proposals (Advanced), To Be Rescheduled in March; Register for in-class workshop by emailing cferguson25@gsu.edu. The “Basics” workshop (see above) and online module are required prior to the “Advanced” in-class workshop and must be taken in iCollege by emailing cferguson25@gsu.edu. The online module may also be taken without the in-class workshop and can be accessed on the homepage in the Research Portal.

  • Expenditure Review on Sponsored Awards, February 28, 10 am – noon; Register for in-class workshop by emailing cferguson25@gsu.edu. The online module is required prior to the in-class workshop and must be taken in iCollege by emailing cferguson25@gsu.edu. The online module may also be taken without the in-class workshop and can be accessed on the homepage in the Research Portal.   • Writing a Better Grant Proposal (faculty, research staff, graduate students), March 23, 10 – 11:30 am; Registration open at: https://app.gsu.edu/training_reg/admin/?system=11.
  • Proposal Preparation and Submission, April 20, 10 am – noon; Registration opens in early April (Online module required prior to in-class workshop).
  • Writing a Better Grant Proposal (faculty, research staff, graduate students), May 16, 2 – 3:30 pm; Registration opens April 24 at: https://app.gsu.edu/training_reg/admin/?system=11.
  • Budgeting for Proposals (Basics), May 18, 10 am – noon; Registration opens May 1.
  • Expenditure Review on Sponsored Awards, May 24, 1:30 – 3:30 pm; Registration opens May 1 (Spectrum classes and online module required prior to in-class workshop. More details about prerequisites forthcoming.)
  • Budgeting for Proposals (Advanced), June 6, 10 am – noon; Registration opens May 1.
