This workshop is designed to walk you through the steps of preparing and submitting a grant proposal at Georgia State. While each college and department may have slightly different procedures, this workshop covers the general procedures that apply to most, if not all, proposal submissions. This workshop will provide helpful guidance to PIs as well as those supporting the preparation and submission of their proposals. Expenditure Review on Sponsored Awards @ Room 365, URSA Offices

This workshop covers the importance of regular expenditure reviews, conducting basic expenditure review functions that are supported by the Spectrum system, and highlights best practices for reviewing expenditures on sponsored awards at Georgia State University.

Anyone wanting to take the in-class workshop must have previously taken two Spectrum classes, Intro to Spectrum and Financial Reports and Inquiries classes, both offered by the Spectrum office, and must take the online module by the same title offered in iCollege.

Register for prerequisite Spectrum classes at Spectrum registration. Register for the Expenditure Review online module in iCollege and the in-class workshop by contacting the Assistant Director for Research Education & Training, target=_blank>Candice Ferguson.

This workshop provides a close look at the basic steps for estimating project costs for sponsored proposals. Walk through the steps to calculate personnel costs and effort, learn where to put these and other costs in a proposal budget, learn how to estimate total project costs, and how to prepare a budget justification.
