Research Portal Benefits

The Research Portal has many benefits for the GSU research community. Below is a list of just a few of the many features that the portal will have that will make doing research at GSU much easier.

Electronic Submissions

Rather than trying to find the most up to date form, printing it out, and having each person sign off on it you can now create and submit all forms electronically. Each form has the ability to build your own workflow so that you can obtain electronic signatures from each appropriate person. These submissions can be approved from any device with an internet connection, making submission of forms easier than ever.

Track University, Department, and PI award statistics

Beginning in late January, the Research Portal will feature a high level view of the University’s grants and awards. The portal will allow you to view university, college, department, and principal investigator data. You will also be able to compare fiscal years to track overall performance.

Always know the status of your items

The Research Portal allows you to check the status of your items at any given time. For example, if you submitted a Subcontract Request, you can check to see if it is pending the sponsor or if it is being reviewed OSPA. This will eliminate the need to call or e-mail OSPA to check on the status of your items, you can view it from any device with an internet connection.

Track Grant and Award budget

Starting March 2014, you will be able to use the Research Portal to get a high level view of your budget per project. This will display the indirect cost, direct cost, total awarded, and the amount left for the fiscal year. This will allow researchers to keep track of the money they have spent or can spend on their research. This can be viewed from your desktop or mobile device.
